Chayanne, Cover of Billboard Today....Grammy Winner Tomorrow

As you may or may not know by now Chayanne is gracing the cover of the January 30 issue of Billboard Magazine...Chayanne is really making this magazine look good! Anyway, the interview gives a hint of what is to come on Chayanne's next tour, and it also goes into great length about why Chayanne chose to stay with Sony Records.

On a personal note, 2010 is going to be a great year for Chayanne.  I anticipate a killer CD, chart topping record sales, followed  by a monster tour......when we get to this time next year in 2011...I want to see Chayanne getting a Grammy!

Chayanne regresa con fuerza este 2010. El último disco inédito que escuchamos de él fue "Mi Tiempo" en el 2007, mismo año en que se embarcó en un tour de 25 ciudades. Terminando la promoción del álbum, Chayanne se embarcará en una gira internacional. Según la revista Billboard, el cantante ofrecerá una serie de conciertos dividida en dos partes. La primera será entre Mayo y Junio, luego hará un receso durante el Mundial de fútbol y después se presentará en México en Julio. La segunda etapa, pautada para el otoño, lo llevará por Latinoamérica y Europa.

Esta vez los fans obtendrán mucho más con su boleto del concierto. Leila Cobo, Directora de Contenido Latino de Billboard reporta, que el ticket "incluirá material personalizado para cada país... los consumidores obtendrán acceso a una página web donde encontrarán contenido como videos, música y fotos." Normalmente Chayanne no tiene problema llenando las localidades donde se presenta, pero esto servirá como mayor incentivo todavía.

Cuando pienso en las presentaciones de Chayanne, la palabra que se me viene a la mente es 'energía'. Durante aproximadamente dos horas, el cantante no para de cantar y bailar enamorando a sus fanáticas aun más. La última vez que lo vi en tarima (hace 3 años) tuve a mi lado dos chicas que lloraban coreando cada una de sus baladas. The last exceptional disk that we listened to was "Mi Tiempo" in 2007, the same year in which he embarked upon a tour of 25 cities.  In 2008 he recorded "Chayanne Alive", that was filmed during his concert in Buenos Aires .  Subsequently we saw him as an actor in the Mega TV series, "Gabriel".  In 2009 we did not know a lot about the boricua the star, because for some months he was enjoying his well deserved holidays.  But the days of rest remain behind because this year the talented artist counts on quite a tight agenda that includes the launch of a disk and an extensive tour. 

 

Elmer Figueroa (his baptized name) is one of the kindest singers and workers in the industry, which is why it does not surprise me to see as many fans as he has around the world.  All those that have missed Chayanne will be happy in February.  The 23rd of said month he will launch his disk "No Hay Imposibles", material from which he launched the single "Me Enamoré De Ti".

 

Finishing the promotion of the album, Chayanne will embark upon an international tour.  According to Billboard magazine, the singer will offer a series of concerts divided into two parts.  The first one will be between May and June, then he will take a recess during the World-wide soccer tournament and later will appear in Mexico in July.  The second phase, in autumn, he will tour in Latin America and Europe . 

 

This time the fans will obtain a lot more with their concert ticket.  Leila Cobo, Director of Latin American Content of Billboard reports, that the ticket "will include personalized material for each country... the consumers will obtain access to a web page where they will find content as videos, music and photos."  Normally Chayanne does not have a problem filling the localities where he is presented, but this will serve as greater encouragement.   

 

When I think about the presentations of Chayanne, the word that comes to my mind is 'energy'.  During approximately two hours, the singer does not stop singing and dancing courting his fans even more.  The last time that I saw him platform (3 years ago) I had two girls beside me that cried each time he sang one of his ballads. Seeing their enthusiasm, I let them know it and they were almost fainting with emotion.  Seeing Chayanne in person is a total experience, and more still for his faithful followers.  My favorite part is when he sings old themes like "Tiempo de Vals" or "Provócame". The Puerto Rican singer Chayanne assured us that his followers are thankful to him because he continues being the same person, even with the worldwide fame that he has, he informed the digital edition of the Chilean newspaper “La Tercera”.

In an interview with the newspaper, the artist asserted that “perhaps for some (I) he is repetitious, but I am certain my followers are thankful that I continue being the same as always”.

After which, he aimed: “I am not going to change at this point into something which I have never been. This is my style, this is what I am. People want this Chayanne and this is the Chayanne that I want to be”, he stressed. The singer aimed that “I want to feed the emotion, the optimism. To feed people with joy and positive energy. It is certain that everything is not rose colored, with the way things are today, but with me they are always going to be able to spend a good time for a while. That is also what I am”.

The Puerto Rican prepares for the promotional tour of his more recent disc “No hay imposibles” that will go on sale February 23 and whose first single, the ballad “Me enamoré de ti”, is already making the rounds on the local radio broadcasting stations.

The singer, of 41 years, from Miami (the United States) acknowledged that he reviewed more than 100 songs before selecting the 12 which will appear in his record production number 13. He added that the authors of the musical subjects always “say to you that they wrote them thinking about you, which can be a little embarrassing coming from a man (laughter), but few have my voice, with a few of them I really feel identified”.

Chayanne's 2007 CD release "Mi Tiempo", is the first CD of Chayanne's that I ever purchased. You know how you might listen to one or two songs from an artist that you like, then you dash out and buy the CD just to be disappointed in the rest of the the tracks, Mi Tiempo was nothing like that After listening to the entire CD....many times, I realized that Chayanne was going to be a permanent part of my life.

I would have to say that my favorite tracks are of course Si Nos Quedara Poco Tiempo, with Sin Palabras de Relleno running a very close second. If you're already a Chayanne fan, I know you have this CD already, but if you're a new Chayanne fan, and you came in on the CD release VIVO, then you need to add this to your collection!

Chayanne~A Mirage Or An Oasis

I know that Chayanne has many long time, faithful fans that have been through many a Chayanne "draught". This is my first one....and it's killing me!



Chayanne fans young, old, long-time and newbie have been scouring the Internet to try and stay on top of the "what is Chayanne going to do next" syndrome. His latest award, the "Premios Juventude", was well deserved, and a treat for all of his fans. But it just isn't the same as knowing that there is a film role, television role, upcoming CD, or even better yet a concert in the works.

A few months ago there was news floating around that Chayanne was in talks to star in a new telenovella, but that was not to be. I can't blame any group of producers to want Chayanne to participate in one of their projects, especially since his killer performance on Gabriel. The theme song "Amor Inmortal" was sung by Chayanne, and was killer on the Latin Billboards.



Well, now it seems as if Chayanne is in final negotiations to sing the title track to a new soap called "Carazon Salvaje". This is great news for Chayanne and his fans.

The question I need answered is, "When Chayanne puts this song on wax, will it be available for purchase to the general public".

Well, a little mirage, can often times lead to a great oasis...I hope that holds true for us.

Chayanne on Oprah! Is This The Holy Grail of Video Clips?

I think that for all of us "Dance With Me" fans, it is! Anniee of ChayanneRocks has uploaded a video clip of Chayanne and Vanessa Williams giving an interview with Oprah. They talk about the film, what it was like to work together....did you know that Oprah has a house in Miami about three minutes away from Chayanne....lucky Oprah! Chayanne and Vanessa dance together of course, which is amazing, but the kicker is, Chayanne dances with a random member of the audience! 10 or 11 years later and she's probably still in shock! God knows I would be~ Let me take the time to say officially, this is why Anniee is the "Video Ninja"! Anniee has video clips that no true Chayanne fan can live without. If you are a Chayanne fan and have never been to ChayanneRocks, you don't know what you're missing! Just make yourself a pot of coffee, or tea, and and just try and get through all of the Chayanne video footage that Anniee has in her library in one sitting.....you'll never make it! Before this blog even begins let me give my thank you's! Many thanks to Anniee of "ChayanneRocks" for letting me use these video clips. Anniee had said that I could uplod them on to YouTube, but part one of the set of clips was a little too long...Maybe Anniee will edit it for me! I did manage to get part 2 uploaded so you will be able to access that part of the interview on YouTube.

For those of you who are DWM fans, I know that you want to see anything and everything that has to do with that movie! For those of you who are Chayanne fans, you want to see anything that has to do with "Papi Chulo"! For those of you who are English language fans, you know how hard it is to get good footage of Chayanne speaking in English!

A Year In The Life Of A Chayanne Fan

I have officially been a Chayanne fan for a year.....and what a year it has been, and all started because I watched a movie! How do you go from watching a movie to being a "Head-Over -Heels" fan for one of the hottest Latin entertainers of all time!

Maybe it has something to do with his natural charm, charisma, what seems to be a very genuine personality....OK let's face it you get sucked in first by his out right God given natural sexy-fine good looks and sensuality! There are women at my job who stop by my office and look at the picture on my computer desk-top and ask me who is the "Hottie"? Of course I oblige them with the answer!

I have learned so many things this year about Chayanne the artist and the man, I have learned quite a few things about his fans....some of them can be "Very Focused"....you know who you are LOL! I have made many wonderful friends.

I have learned almost all of Chayanne's discography, and I have seen many, many, upon many video clips. As a side note if you are a new Chayanne fan, let me warn you now, there are so many Chayanne clips in the world that i don't know if I will ever see them all.

There have also been my personal ups and downs in "Chayville" as well......that's how you learn who your real friends are.


All in all, good and bad, I wouldn't change anything for the world.....I am happy being a Chayanne fan....Does anyone have any suggestions where I can hide my growing stash of Chayanne contraband!

If Chayanne Is Selling...Then I'm Buying

Ok, so everyone is still trying to figure out what to do with their "Chayanne Down-Time", I've been cruising YouTube. There are many Chayanne Videos posted there, it would take months to watch all of them, but the ones that I have been noticing are the commercials. Chayanne has done commercials for things that I really don't buy....but he just might get me to change my mind!




I don't drink soda, I get enough caffeine from coffee, but suddenly I fell like I need a Pepsi!



I know that Pfizer is some sort of pharmaceutical company, I don't know what Chayanne is talking about here...sorry I'm Spanish impaired...but I want some!



Can we talk about the VO5? I'm African-American, and I wear my hair natural, so VO5 won't do much good for me, but after this commercial I might have to get me a relaxer and some tracks! Come on Sista's, you know what I'm talkin' about!

Chayanne's Guajira Girl Video~ A favorite among African American English speaking fans

For any of you that know me, how long do you think I could have a blog and not write about the music video that pushed me over the cliff of Chayanne love, after finding him in the movie "Dance With Me", that video was "Guajira Girl". I was turned on to this video as a still wet behind the ears fan, by the Chayanne Video Vixen herself, Anniee of the famous Chayanne Rocks!

Anniee turned me on to this video in response to a question that I had. I asked her how many English speaking fans were active in the Chayville community, and out of those fans how many were African American. Call it a thing with me, but, as an African American woman, I need to know how an artist feels about people of the shall we say "the browner persuasion"....not everyone is partial to brown....shhh, it's a secret so don't let it out!

Well, the same day I emailed Anniee this question, she sent me the link to this video on her website....Guajira Girl....I fell in love!



Chayanne surrounded by beautiful black women! When that video was made I'm sure that might not have been the most popular thing to do, but he did it any way.

I have to say that I have seen almost all of his music videos and a great majority of his performance videos, and I have come to this conclusion.....Chayanne is a man of the people.

So to all my African American Sisters who are closet Chayanne lovers, don't be shy, come on out into the Chayshine!

I Should Have Gone To The Bahamas~ Chayanne and family on vacation

Is there anywhere that Chayanne can go where his picture won't be taken? Maybe, but thank goodness for us fans that these recent pictures of Chayanne and his lovely family have surfaced.

Chayanne and family are shown vacationing on Bimini Island in the Bahamas.....I book a flight to Miami, and he goes to the Bahamas! Who would have guessed? Apparently not me. LOL

Chayanne Does Twitter!

I have done MySpace, FaceBook, LinkedIn.....so when Twitter came along, I thought enough is enough! I can't do anything else! With all of the networking and social sites that I access my Blackberry is buzzing almost 24 hrs a day!

Then yesterday as I was browsing through Chayanne.net, as I do almost everyday....several times a day....we'll save that for another story...anyway, I come across a post that says Chayanne is on Twitter! So you can understand my delima....."To Twitter, or not to Twitter, that is the question." I'm a Chayanne fan, so of course I'm going to choose Twitter!

I have to add this one thing before I end this entry, I would like to think the Chayanne himself is doing the "Twittering".
