Chayanne, Sade....Spontaneous Combustion!

I have often twirled around in my mind if Chayanne was going to do a new duet with who do I think would be the best match. I'm going to tell you off the top, I am NOT a music or voice aficionado...but I know what I like to hear. This thought continued to turn over and ruminated in my mind, then something extremely coincidental happened. Sade's latest CD, "Soldier of Love was released on February 9, 2010. "Soldier of Love" is only her 6th studio release in her 25 years in the industry, and her first since her last album "Lovers Rock" on 2000. Sade's sultry and smooth as silk vocals are only matched by her simplistic but stunning beauty. Hot off the press, Sade has received two nominations for the 2011 Grammy's one for "Soldier of Love" for "Best R&B Performance by a Group", and the other for "Baby Father" for "Best Pop Performance by a Group"

Then, Chayanne's most recent CD "No Hay Imposibles" dropped February 22, 2010. "No Hay Imposibles" brought an entire new pallet of vocal colors to Chayanne's repertoire, while at the same time preserving all of the qualities in his music that his fans have come to not only love, but to cling to.

"Chayanne’s 22nd album is a comfortable effort divided between the usual romantic ballads and effervescent dance songs fans have come to expect from the Puerto Rican singer. Even though he’s been down this road many times before, No Hay Imposibles is still filled with the enthusiasm and conviction that many artists less established than the million-selling Chayanne lack. When he sings of a first encounter for what must be the umpteenth time, believing that he’s free-falling into a new love is as easy as ever it was. Highlights include the elegant “Dime” and the sunshine-bright retro rocker “Besos en la Boca (Beijar Na Boca),” plus “Me EnamorĂ© de Ti,” the theme from the soap opera Corazon Salvaje."  ~ David Jeffries, All Music Guide

(Don't get me started on Chayanne and the Grammy's that's a blog for another day)...and then it hit me! What if Chayanne and Sade were to record a duet!

I have to tell you, I think it would be a match made in record heaven! After Chayanne's recent performance in Atlantic City, at the Trump Taj Mahal, a few of us were sitting around (You know who all of you are *giggle*) talking and exchanging ideas and thoughts about Chayanne of course, among other things, and I brought up the subject of duets. I said what about Chayanne and Sade? There was a general consensus that this would be off the chain!

Think about it for a minute, picture with me if you will.....close your eyes and imagine......Sade's silky alto voice, paired with Chayanne's smooth tenor. Their ballad styles are beautifully complementary to one another, both have an international appeal, and to top it off both are on the Sony Music Label (Chayanne is listed under Sony Music Latin, and Sade is listed under RCA, which is a label group under Sony Music Entertainment). What could be more fortuitous than that! (Besides from what I hear Papi is crazy about Sade, *wink* and Sade must dig the hot Latin thing, after all she was married to Spanish film maker Carlos Scola for three years)

Then of course if they were to record a duet together, there would have to be a video right? Of course! How good would they look together in the vid? Off the scale! Now that would be sexy!

So Chayanne, Sade, if either one of you just happen to come across this blog post, just stop and give this some serious thought...twirl it around...ruminate on it.....after all....No Hay Imposibles para los Soldiers of Love!

~Peace
