What is the "Premios Lo Nuestro" awards? Here is the 411,
"Lo Nuestro ("Ours") is an awards show honoring the best of Latin music, presented by television network Univision. The awards began in 1989. Notable recipients include Selena, Gloria Estefan, Juan Gabriel, Olga Tañón, Marc Anthony, Ricky Martin, Juanes, Laura Pausini, Luis Miguel, Maná, Juan Luis Guerra, Ana Bárbara, RBD, Celia Cruz, Aventura, Shakira and Thalía.
The artist with the most Premios Lo Nuestro awards is Puerto Rican singer Olga Tañón.
The awards ceremony features famous Latino actors, musicians and show business personalities. The show is broadcast all over the Americas. Premio Lo Nuestro a la Excelencia

In addition to categories for different genres of music, the honors include "Premio Lo Nuestro a la Excelencia", (literally, The "Ours" award for Excellence), a career or lifetime achievement award. The following list are past years recipients.

The beauty of the the "Premios Lo Nuestro" awards is that you, yes YOU! WE! The fans get to cast our votes! We get to have a voice in who we feel should be the winner....and apparently, if you're here reading this blog you must feel the way that I do that Chayanne should win in all three of his categories.

Don't get it twisted, I have great love for many of the other artists that have been nominated for these same categories, take Alejandro Sanz...you know I love him! (Desde Cuando...*sigh*), but to me, they all pale in comparison to what Chayanne brings to the Latin music party.
