Feliz Navidad and Prospero Ano de Chayanne

What would Christmas and New Years be with out a seasons greeting from Chayanne? Oh yes, the holiday would go on, but it would be sorely lacking for Chayanne fans around the globe.

But I also have to pose the question, "When did Chayanne ever know that his fans were in anticipation of something special from him and he not deliver? The answer is NEVER!

This holiday season in no different. Chayanne sent out a Tweet message as well as an email message to all of his fans wishing us a "Feliz Navidad y Prospero Ano".

Thank you Chayanne for making everyday feel like Christmas.

Chayanne Celebrates With His Family In Isla Verde...And They Look Great!

Of Course!

With this spontaneous expression sounding almost like his brother Emanoel’s jingle – the one which he is using for his campaign while he runs for mayor of San Lorenzo as part of the New Progressive Party (PNP), a very sweet Chayanne agreed to pose with his brother for Camera Ready on Christmas Day, on the same day his brother Emanoel celebrates his birthday.

“This is the reason why I was named Emanoel, which means God is with us, because I was born on Christmas Day”, commented yesterday Emanoel Figueroa as he was interviewed by Primera Hora, and who was being honored in San Lorenzo too.
On Christmas, Chayanne had two good reasons to celebrate; one was his brother’s birthday and the other Christmas Day itself.  To celebrate, the singer visited a restaurant in Isla Verde with his family.
The vocalist and dancer arrived at the restaurant driving his own car and accompanied by his wife, the Venezuelan Marilisa Maronese, his son Lorenzo Valentino (who already looks like an adolescent), and his daughter Isadora Sofia.

Also present were his in-laws and his brother Elliot accompanied by his wife.  Emanoel was also in the company of his wife.  Chayanne’s brothers arrived in a separate vehicle which was following Chayanne’s car.
To everyone’s surprise, the Figueroa Maronese couple and the rest of the Figueroa gang arrived at the main vestibule of the San Juan Hotel, where the famous restaurant La Piccola Fontana is situated.
At the restaurant, the artist enjoyed a family style dinner which has now become a tradition for the Figueroa and Maronese families on Christmas day in Puerto Rico.

As usual, Chayanne was dressed impeccable and very much in style.  He had a two day old beard which looked fabulous on him, a dark suit (in this occasion the suit had pin stripes), striped gray shirt, and a tie with tiny black and maroon squares and white dots.  His wife Marilisa, who was Ms. Venezuela in 1988, was wearing a high end dress draped off one shoulder in a light blue tone with sandals.  Her hair was straight and blonde covering some of her face as she normally wears it.
The singer has been in Puerto Rico for a week now, where he had the opportunity to enjoy with his family in Cayey, and especially with his parents, Mr. Quintino and Mrs. Irma.  Actually, last week, various neighbors saw him taking a stroll with his dad in the small town he lives in.
When his Christmas vacation comes to an end in Puerto Rico, Chayanne will return to his intensive rehearsals to get ready for all the concerts that he will be giving in 2011, which will include a debut in the coliseum in Puerto Rico in February.
With March Anthony
Chayanne will also be in concert alongside Marc Anthony in the Olympic Stadium Felix Sanchez in the Dominican Republic on Mary 26, 2011.

Please see the original article on Primera Hora.

Christmas Wishes To Chayanne And The Readers Of Pandora's Caja

Christmas 2010 has almost passed, but it would be remiss of me if I let it go by without a blog post. This blog post has absolutely no new information or scoop on Chayanne...actually it's all about me.....and the things that I wish for Christmas. (Please forgive the translation, you realize that I'm language challenged *laugh*)
(Por favor, perdona la traducción, te das cuenta de que estoy idioma impugnada *reir*)
I have already been given all that I could want for Christmas, the health, happiness and well-being of my loved ones.....so what else could I possibly wish for or want?

Sugar Plums...Or Chayanne? It's A No Brainer (Christmas Twitvid Greet)

It's playing out like the proverbial 12 day of Christmas, and yesterday was no exception. Chayanne gave the gift of a  Merry Christmas and/or Feliz Navidad Tweet to the twibe. This years Christmas tweet was just as adorable as the video Christmas Card that he sent to us last year.

Chayanne never misses sending his holiday well wishes to his fans.....I have to say, I loved the pictures cards that he used to send...but the video clips are just so much fun. So if you're not on twitter or FB and you missed the clip...here you go, I know he would want you to see it! Enjoy!

~Peace

below is a translation of the video. Many, many thanks to Rossy and her wonderful daughter Melissa for this awesome translation! Love you Rossy!!!

"Since this is neither for cameras nor the press, it could look a little dark, but it still comes from my heart.   Merry Christmas and may the New Year bring you lots of joy, love, and peace and may all your dreams come true.  I send you a kiss and I thank you for your love and for being with me for all these years and for many more to come.  I love you all, take care and the tour continues!"

Christmas in Puerto Rico & The Caribbean

Ever wonder what a Puerto Rican Christmas (and really just a Caribbean Christmas overall) is all about?  We don’t have snow, so how can Santa ride a sled?  It’s always very hot weather so… why would we have a chimney for Santa to come down on?  As a result, the children don’t believe in Santa.  We know it’s our parents we have to beg for toys, not just hope they will magically appear out of nowhere on Dec. 25th.  The Christmas traditions of the Caribbean islands are very different from that which we experience in the United States.  Personally, I do not remember having a better Christmas since the Christmas of 1992.  The last Christmas I spent in my beloved Dominican Republic before coming to America.
So for all you Chayanne fans, who are wondering what your idol will be spending his Christmas here it is.  Feel free to close your eyes and imagine yourselves in our tropical paradise.

Christmas celebrations begin early in December.  However, the most important celebratory days are Noche Buena (Christmas Eve), Navidad (Christmas day), Despedida de Año (New Years Eve) and Dia de Reyes (Three Kings Day, Jan. 6).

Out of all the traditions, this is my favorite of all:  El Aguinaldo.  Aguinaldos are the equivalent of Christmas Caroling… with a little… Flavor and rhythm.  They are amazing!  A group of friends, most of which play an instrument (mostly tamboras, güiros, mini accordions, maracas and guitars) all gather together and stop at a friend’s house to surprise them and begin playing and singing for everyone’s enjoyment.  The surprise usually occurs at night, while everyone is sleeping and not expecting it.  After the song is done, others will join and the party continues to another house… until dawn.  It’s a great time!  Below is my favorite Aguinaldo:

As with most traditions worldwide, food is a big part.  The largest dinner occurs on Christmas Eve.  Both women and man slave in the kitchen for the dinner on Noche Buena.  Food includes the famous lechon asado (a roasted pig cooked on a pit), arroz con gandules (rice and pigeon peas), arroz con dulce (rice pudding), templeque (coconut pudding) and coquitos (coconut-rum beverages).
Arroz con Gandules

Arroz con Dulce

Coquitos

Lechon Asado

Tembleque

The most important thing not to forget is to party.  Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Christ and it’s a big long month birthday party.  If ever once, you can spend Christmas in the Caribbean… do it! :-)

And now you know what Chayanne will be experiencing during his time off at home with his family.

What are YOUR Christmas traditions?
