Chayanne's Very First Interview in Puerto Rico!

We all know that Chayanne is in Puerto Rico right now and that he is thrilled to be in his country and also a bit anxious about his performances on February 11th, 12th, and 13th. He has been eagerly awaiting this moment and in just a couple of days his fans will be able to enjoy his concert and live a moment they will never, ever forget. The news about Chayanne landing in Puerto Rico spread like wildfire yesterday and tons of articles and videos were popping up all over the internet. One of the videos that caught my attention is the one below. It is a video that the cameras of “El Nuevo Dia” were able to capture the very moment that Chayanne landed. Take a look and I will tell you more about it in a bit.

This reporter was able to go inside Chayanne’s private plane (what a lucky woman) and even though he was a little surprised with her visit he was very excited to be able to greet his fans that were watching live as he landed on the island. Chayanne said "I am very happy, I am so excited to be in my country and I want to say hello to all my fans here on the island”. The reporter then asked him what Puerto Rico smells like to him, does it have a distinct scent? Our provocative Chayanne said “Right now Puerto Rico smells like “Dulce”, which happens to be the reporter’s name who couldn’t help but laugh at his alluring comment. He commented, “Puerto Rico smells like family, like friends, like the “coqui”, like the great people that have put me where I am today”. One thing I love about Chayanne is that he is always thankful to his fans and his people; in each and every interview first and foremost he thanks his fans and sends them his love. During this interview, he stressed the fact that without his fans he would not be the superstar that he is today. Chayanne, you have earned a very special place in your fans’ hearts, a place that will always be yours for all eternity.

Chayanne also talked about the changes that he is making to his shows in Puerto Rico. He feels that everything has to be bigger and better because this is his home and he feels a sense of loyalty to his friends on the island as these were the people that first supported him when he began his career 32 years ago. He will be paying tribute to Puerto Rico’s music and promises many other surprises for these shows.

The reporter also asked him which country did he have the most fun performing at and Chayanne said “I enjoy each and every one of my concerts no matter where they are, but I must confess that I receive a lot of love from my fans in all of Latin America”.

Our gorgeous heartthrob also commented that he is very nervous about the three performances in Puerto Rico because his friends and family will be there watching. He says that you really don’t know how things will go until you are finally performing and anything can happen, so he only hopes for the best and that he will do his homeland proud. Chayanne, I have no doubt in my mind that you will give them three amazing performances and that the people from Puerto Rico will be extremely proud of you.

A cute question that he was asked at the end of the interview was “How will you break your heart into tiny little pieces and give one to each and every person that comes see your shows, do you have a big enough heart to go around? Come on, how can you ask if Chayanne has a big heart, it is so obvious that his heart is as big as the universe, don’t you think? Well he humbly answered “I have a HUGE heart!

  2. Candela,

Thank you so much. What lovely surprise! I did see the interview, but there were a few things I missed, and your translation made it much more personal. Speaking of "HUGE hearts," love is the only thing that one can give away and yet never run out of. I think Chayanne figured that out a long time ago! Thank you, again. What a great way to start the day!
