2010...It was a very good year - picture slideshow
It seems like just yesterday, I was sitting at my computer, trying to think of what to write for the year in review blog post for 2009....and here I sit again.....letting my mind take me on a roller coaster ride of new memories that have been forged in the year 2010.....
We started the year with the news of Chayanne's new CD, "No Hay Imposibles". Everyone buzzing about trying to figure out where to pre-order, some people even ordering the CD from one country to be shipped to another. There were three reasons for the MEGA excitement, 1. We ALWAYS look forward to anything that Chayanne wants to give us, 2. A new CD meant that Chayanne was going to go on tour!, and 3. Chayanne fans are always psyched and excited about Chayanne ALL THE TIME! *giggle*
Then came the release of "Chayanne es Gabriel" to DVD! Well color me happy! (What ever color that might be! I think it's pink...any way, I digress) We couldn't wait to get that DVD with extended scenes and English subtitles in our hot little hands....again we were hitting up Amazon.com as fast as we could to get "Gabriel pre-ordered!
"Mi Enamore de Ti".....and we fell again and again and again...Chayanne gave us an incredibly beautiful song and a stunning video. There's something to be said about Chayanne, singing alone on a stage with nothing else in the back ground to take our eyes off of him....pure genius.
From here the pace began to quicken....Billboard lists Chayanne's CD's "Grandes Exitos" and "Mi Tiempo" on the list of the "Best of the Decade 2000"! But we knew that all along *wink*
Photo shoots, television and radio interviews....Chayanne was everywhere...I think I've learned how to stream almost every Latin radio station that you can think of from my computer! (Many thanks to Teresa who always had the list of links where we could tune in! Much Love!)
This was the year that Chayanne scored big with the Premios Juventud and receiving the Excellence Award during the Premio Lo Nuestro Awards ceremony. I'm going to take just a minute to tell you how proud I was of him that night. Chayanne is one of the most genuinely humble human beings that I have the great fortune to meet.
2010 also brought the world more than it's fair share of natural disasters...it seemed like it was just one after the other....and where ever there was a need...Chayanne was right there. I don't think he ever missed a beat! It's almost as if he simply says, "People in need, people hurting? Tell me what to do to help." Public service announcements to song collaborations to raise money for disaster victims...sending tweets to ask fans to help....there was nothing more moving.
The coolest article that I read this year compared Chayanne to Elvis! That's right! You know your doing something right when you're able to take up the mantle of "The King!" Chayanne...you wear it well...you wear it well!
And through all of this the touring continued...and here we are..two U.S. tours over, and the second leg of the Latin tour about to begin in 2011.
But for me this year hasn't been made incredible by Chayanne alone....
I have had the great fortune to say that I have become even closer to the sisters that I made last year, and I have been blessed to meet new sister's, sisters that span the globe. Much Love to all of you!
This was the year that I was able to conduct my very first artist interview! Much love to Xandro Leima! Much, Much love to my sister Karin for helping to make this a possibility.
A very, very warm hug to Maria Soledad Chaves Ortiz for opening her heart and letting Pandora's Caja go into the history of "Lazos de Amistad". Maria was willing to answer any and every question that I had and more! Much Love Maria.
This has also been the year of growth for Pandora's Caja.....It gives me a full heart to say that the Caja has grown from just me, to me and my sister Bariloche, to now include, I must say with great pleasure, Candela, Glamor Girl, and Mama Bonita. I love all of you and look forward to a fantastic 2011 with you...this is really going to get good!
On a very personal note, I leave me heart and my sister love to those that have been there with me through thick and thin, through the good and the bad....You see, we sometimes for get that the people behind the names that you see on FB, or Twitter, or even Pandora's Caja are just people. Just as much as we experience good, we can struggle through the bad.....and most times, it's the ability to lean on those we love that gets us through. Much Love to my girls, Anniee, Bari, Rosa, Teresa, Hipitonga, and Penny....you always know what I need when I need it. Thank you for being mind and heart readers.
Finally...to all of you that I have never met, but have left so many comments and sent emails with words of support. My sister love goes out to you as well, for with out you....these are just words on a page that I have written for my own amusement...and that's never what I intended for it to be. Much Love!
Now go out and conquer 2011...."Aim for the stars and maybe you'll reach the sky." Be happy, be loved and most of all be blessed!
~Pandora
