Chayanne + Jell-O + Mash Potatoes & Soup

My Dear Caja Readers,
I have been very much missing in action for these past few days and I would like to take this opportunity to apologize and share with you my entire ordeal.  And what an ordeal it has been.  I expected the worst imaginable so I guess so far, I am not too shocked with my experience.  On Wednesday, Jan. 5th I had a tonsillectomy.  Some may ask, why now??? I mean I am 26 years old… Well, simply because I had no choice!  I have been plagued by tonsillitis my entire life, and last month it came to a point where I started having allergic reactions to the antibiotics being prescribed to me.  Needless to say, they had to come out immediately.  Why my pediatrician never thought to remove these horrid things from me when I was young, is something I will never understand.  I was probably sick 3-4 times a year with tonsillitis.
Well, 4 days after the operation I am finally able to blog (it’s 4:30 AM).  The first 2 days were not that bad.  I took my medicine and the pain was bearable, I suppose… however the medication made me extremely dizzy.  I couldn’t stare at a computer screen without feeling like I was about to fall over.  I was passing out cold every 3 hours or so.  And then came day 3.  I don’t cry.  But yesterday was bad.  The pain was just too intense.  It’s been 4 days since I properly eat and I swear, if I ever see Jell-O again in my life after this, I will flip on whoever is offering it to me.  LOL!!
So what has helped me cope with this a little bit?  Why… Jell-O ( <<shivers>> ), mash potatoes, soup and Chayanne!  Yes.  Always there for me when I need to relax.  His music is soothing all around.  I discovered that it is possible for me to listen to his songs and not sing along (I tried signing along but it just hurt too much! Lol!!) and I also learned to stop drooling during that bathroom scene in Dance With Me… You know which one I am talking about! ;-)  …So if ever you need a lift in spirits, go ahead… try it.  I promise you, it will work.  Chayanne is the best feel good medicine there is :-)

I hope the worst is now over for me and I can continue on my merry way and back to my posting routine.

Wishing you all the best and cheers to your health in 2011!

  1. Glad you are feeling better - I had no idea! Love your "healing medicine" remedy, especially the non-food part! And you are absolutely right: beautiful music can inspire us to see beyond almost any pain or difficulty, and to rise above it - if we let it. (And how could anyone resist Chayanne?!)
