Chayanne In Flashback! Circa 1998: Guajira

I'm sitting here thinking over the last year and a half, and one of my favorite memories comes to my mind. Go back with me if you will prior to the start of Chayanne's 2010-2011 NHI Tour. In preparation for the tour, Chayanne send out a tweet telling fans that he's listening to songs that he might use on the tour and asks what songs fans would like to hear on the tour.

Well....I did exactly what any Chayanne fan would do.......I got on Twitter and let my fingers tweet as fast as they could and submitted my choice, "Guajira" of course! (Now let me clarify, my all time favorite song is "Te Echo de Menos", but he did that song in his last concert as part of a medley. But "Guajira" hasn't been heard performed live in ages.) I was Über excited to cast my vote, but I really didn't think it would amount to much after I saw that about a gazillion (is that a word) fans were tweeting the same time as I was. I perused the list of responses and I didn't see where anyone else had mention "Guajira". After that I kind of dismissed it and thought to myself that Chayanne would never use that song for this tour.

Long story short....Chayanne did use "Guajira", and I got to hear it live for the first time over the phone as my amigocha Rosalita (Guajira Chicas To The Bone!) called me from the concert to let me hear it. It was all I could do to keep from screaming and waking up my entire house hold.

Chayanne - Entrevista en HTV – 1998

"I had never worked in Black and White before, and that is something different that seemed very nice on the part of  [my apologies to the person he names, but I can't make it out... perhaps the director of the video shoot? Can anyone help fill this in?] It was good that it was something new that I was doing.

There is no choreography of any type, which usually I put in some type of choreography. There are absolutely no dancers.  What is used is more of the photography model.  It is very fresh, not so stylized... the video is somewhat relaxed.

The straw hat gives you more freedom, it makes you more casual. There are a lot of details that I had not used in previous videos.  The model is the same... the singer is the same, which is me (laughs), but obviously with the years of experience you deposit that in the newer projects.

 There was an amusing experience in making the video. One of the (male) models had to pour coconut water onto one of the (female) models, and we had to repeat that several times... it was amusing.

Well, the hardest part I can tell you was the scorching sun that was out that day. It was brutal. One of those that you feel like your skull is going to crack open and you have to close it back up. (laughs) But the other thing was the trip to get there we had to pass through the Everglades and there were a whole lot of alligators, no, but no, that depends also on how you take things. You know that you have a job to do, you have to work and there are sacrifices that go with that, it is normal. I am very playful because I have a lot of fun in my career."

Chayanne is getting ready to take the "No Hay Impossibles" tour back out on the road, so Chayanne is getting ready to do pr for the tour.....and for us fans, that means interviews! I have to tell you, listening to Chayanne give interviews is one of my favorite things. I know.....as language challenged as I am, I have no clue what he's saying! He could be saying, "Blah, blah, blah" and in Spanish it sounds sexy!

Veronica:   This is a special video collage with some of your videos. Honestly, there has been a notable change in your image and now with this , your development as an artist is incredible fascinating, your sixth material right?

Chayanne answers, “Yes this is the sixth record, I have done” (Provocame)

Veronica: “Provocame   you really unite…… (crowd goes ooohhhh) Even the title is strong right girls? She asks as she looks towards the audience.  Chayanne blushes!!

Veronica: He’s hot right girls? The girls are hot too. You really united important and very well known song writers such as lan Chester, Honorio Herrera, Diane Warren are amazing.”

Chayanne:  Yes there is a lot, a lot

Veronica: what does this project mean to you?

Chayanne: This has been a project that was reviewed by all of those song writers you have mentioned, Honorio Herrera who is a dear friend and Manchester who has worked with me , I am very thankful to him . I thank him, for the song, we were where recently together in Miami; at the release party of my CD we had on July 23^rd in Miami. There were many people present.

Veronica: Yes, for the love of God you have to tell us about that, the word around was that it was one of the biggest and best CDS release party that has ever been put together in the music history.

Chayanne: Yes we were and there we were a lot of people from Mexico, from all over the world, Spain, united states, Diane warren  who wrote the song for me “Fuistes Mi Primer Amor” she wrote songs for Michael Bolton, sting, there’s a probability we will be working with her to do the cross over into the English market.

Veronica: New English CD

Chayanne: Yes it would be the first CD in English

Veronica: But tell us the juice, they said, you had a room to present one thing, another for don’t know what else and another room for something else, everything was extremely elegant.

Chayanne:  Yes, Well I had been out of the spotlight for the past two years as you mentioned it at the beginning of your show, I wanted to presented it to the media and wanted it to be something different and nice.  A video collage was put together just like the one we just saw, videos from the beginning of my career to what I am doing now, Once that was done people thought it was over, but It wasn’t I had them go into the next room, it took place in Miami beach “Chayannes face expression says it all” Veronica: yes we heard everything then came the show right?

Chayanne: Then came the show, the show that we will be presenting in different cities you mentioned earlier, and right after that, there was a dinner. Veronica: what about the party? Party with violins, people were extremely elegant. Chayanne: yes it was a nice presentation Veronica interrupts, Thank you for the invite!

Chayanne: yes we invited you and I waited for you personally, but she called and told us that she was extremely mad at me (he laughs) Veronica: Is not true I was working here (he laughs)

Veronica: I truly want to congratulate for your great valuable commitment to your career. A come back after a well deserve break, you have surrounded yourself with the correct people, I bet your company is extremely happy right now, and it has been an important project that has been worth it!!

Chayanne: We have a great company, and right now our Kodak who is sponsoring our tour (crowd yells out as Chayanne says Kodak.) 


Veronica: girls girls and tell me what are you doing there?

Chayanne: In “ silent “ laughs they are my sponsors for half of the tour around Latin America and here in Mexico they are the #1 sponsor of the tour. There are sponsoring me throughout Mexico and Latin American tour and United States also. The reaction of the public has been incredible as I mention before, because when you take a break from your career and you comeback, it is extremely hard to start again, because you never know how the public is going to react, with the new image, new CD, long hair, short hair, beard or no beard. Veronica: Do you like how he is now more than before? Crowd yells out YESSSSSSSSSSS  Chayanne: they have seen how much we have spent (laughs)

Veronica: Tell me about the new video clip “En El Centro de Mi Corazon” 

Chayanne: Centro de mi Corazon was the release song of the new CD and has been on the #1 spot, billboard, and other magazines in various countries. (Veronica) whose idea was it, because honestly all of your videos have always been really great.

Chayanne: Gustavo Sanchez played a big role; you do know my manager right? He plays a big role when it involves me, we get together we talk about the video we gather information is usually eight of us who usually decide. Whether it is when the CD is released, should we do it here there, New York, Mexico Puerto Rico, basically it was a taken out of the show that we are currently on tour with.

Veronica: Well Done, 


Chayanne: There they look at the structure the choreography of the dancers etc. 


Veronica: and when will you present it to us? 


Chayanne: now, with the new tour we will be presenting her in Mexico. 


Veronica: So you showing it to us right now as a exclusive World premiere here in my show? 


Chayanne: Ahhhhhhhhhhhh sure for sure.

Chayanne In Concert With Exclusive Interview! Just When We Thought It was Over!

In for what was for some of us the wee hours of the morning, we got to see "King Papacito" himself in an exclusive interview. This was one of the most in depth interviews that I've seen Chayanne give in a very long time. The backdrop for the interview was a pre-show rehearsal and concert in Mexico. the interview was sponsored by Mexico Suena.

The way that the interview was executed was so charming. They cut back and forth between interview segments with Chayanne, to behind the scenes rehearsals, to the concert itself.  We also had the opportunity to hear from the always lovely longtime friend and choreographer to Chayanne, Nancy O'Meara, the beautiful and talented Ferly Prado, and the uber talented and handsome Marcus Mitchell.

Chayanne's fans never cease to amaze me. The word had been going out for days prior to the interview, and last night FB and Twitter were teaming with fans passing around links to various websites that were streaming the interview on line for those of us that weren't able to watch it on television.

What was the best part of the interview for me? Well, everyone know that I'm language challenged, so I have no clue what was said during the interview. The best part for me is watching how Chayanne interacts with the audience. Every performance is unique, he finds those moments to give that something special just to THAT audience. This means that no matter how many time you may see Chayanne perform the same set of songs, you NEVER see the same performance twice.

What can I say?  I’m a fan just like you.  When I started Pandora’s Caja, never in my wildest dreams would I have ever imagine having the extreme pleasure of being able to bring to you in collaboration with "The First Lady" of Chayanne fandom, Anniee of Chayanne Rocks, the first exclusive fan interview of longtime friend and choreographer of Chayanne, Nancy O’Meara.

And yet, here we are.  You can ask any of the ladies that work with me; my motto is if there’s something you really want, the best you can do is go for it!  What’s the worst that can happen?  You lose nothing by trying.  As a Chayanne fan one of my goals has been to get an interview with one of the people that I have come to admire greatly, Nancy O’Meara.  So what did I do? I just asked *SMILE*.  Amazingly, Anniee had the same idea at the same time (great minds really do think much alike).  We both received a “Yes” from Nancy said and proceeded to collaborate on the project with one another.

With the first part of our exclusive interview, The Woman Behind The Rhythm a complete success, we decided to push the envelope just a little further.  Being fans, we acknowledge that being able to ask questions to the great Nancy is probably on everyone’s list of Chayanne Wishes.  Nancy once again agreed to participate in a second exclusive interview, but this time YOU were the interviewer.

Love at First Step

How many of us have always dreamed of finding our soul mates?  How many times have we lost sleep thinking of someone who makes our hearts skip a beat?  It’s no mystery that as humans we all share one vulnerability; love.  And this love is not always for a person, oh no.  I hope you have been blessed with discovering love in all its forms.  Love for music, dance, art, Chayanne (hehe), studying, your profession, your job…

As with all love stories… the draw is always instant.

We would like to hear about how your career started?  When did you discover your vocation, what is it that you love about dance the most?  Where did you study, what is the hardest part?    (Fans Alma Ileana Villa Arredondo, Angelica Lacarra, Kelly Setzer and Maria Tejeda)

I started dancing at the age of 9.  I believe my mother said "I would like to sign my daughter up for lessons because she has trouble walking and chewing gum”; meaning I wasn't very coordinated in a fun way.  I loved it from the very beginning.  I was crowned Miss Dance of America in my teenage years... That was huge for me. It’s like a Miss America Pageant but your solo is worth 75% of your score along with interview, attitude and modeling.  It was then a judge said to me that I should dance and show off my talent before deciding to be a teacher at the studio I was trained in Brockton, MA: The Gold Studios. My dance teacher's name was Sherry Gold.  She’s in heaven now…

If you can (and besides Chayanne, which is a given!), who is the nicest person in the industry that you've worked with and what made this person a standout?  (Fan Tracey Thomas)

Jason Mraz… he’s such a kind soul.  Loves to laugh, work hard and treats everyone like a star. Reba McEntire would be another… so strong talented and honest... and she’s a redhead…

What do you prefer to do for a show?  To teach a dance step created by another but well done or to teach a simple step that is unique and original?  (Fan Dorita Pereira)

Simple:  Unique and original… would be my favorite.

The Dance Boss

Finding your passion is the first step towards guaranteed success.  Being completely in love with what you do gives you a drive that no one but yourself can limit.  For Nancy, her passion and dedication for dance has brought her to be the boss.  To be a friend, a mentor, to encourage others (dancers and artists alike) to be their very best and shake it like they mean it!  But being the boss is not always easy.  Overcoming challenges always make our talents shine brighter.

Can you tell us about how you go about picking dancers for Chayanne's crew? How do you announce that you are casting? Are the dancer's from the previous shows given an opportunity to audition first? What do you look for in auditions?  (Fans Jacqueline Constante Alama, Kelly Setzer, Kristýna Cechová, Marta Menendez and Tracey Thomas)

The dancers from previous shows are given the opportunity to come to the call back.  I contact all the agencies in Los Angeles and let them know the time and the place and then teach them some choreography. When it comes to the boys I look for my football team to be the players around Chayanne. The females… I need them to be on the taller side.  Sexy, feminine and they have to be able to hang with the boys as well.  I video tape the dancers that I keep until the end of the audition and send it to Chayanne.  Sometimes we meet in person to cast the dancers and sometimes we do it over the internet.

Do you get very close to your dancers? (Fans Alma Ileana Villa Arredondo, Angelica Lacarra, Kelly Setzer and Maria Tejeda)  

I’m close with some of the dancers to a certain degree.  I’ve learned that training a dancer and being a great friend isn’t always best. I’m drilling them all day long.  I’m the last person they want to relax with sometimes; although two of my closest girlfriends were in the Caprichosa video.  And I’m planning to go to Corey Anderson’s wedding in August. I love dancing because when I’m in the studio nothing else matters, except the music and me.  It’s the best feeling and the hardest to explain.  The hardest part for a dancer is the personal rejection you endure each day.  Too tall... too short... too fat... too skinny... not pretty enough... not the right type... That’s why it’s so important to continue with your training.  It builds confidence and self esteem. It feels good to work hard and the payoff is even better.

Life Outside The Dance Floor

WORK LIFE BALANCE.  Such an easy phrase to say… such a hard thing to accomplish!  Especially when being completely in love.  The Chinese philosophers definitely had it right.  Ying-Yang.  Everything must have a balance.  Love for work must also be balanced with love for life, love for family, love for traveling, and love for absolutely anything else that makes you smile. 

How are you at home with your family? (Fan Daniela Nelson)

My family lives in Boston.  I’m one of 6 children.  I’m very close with my family they are my support team.  If I need to hear the truth they always let me know.  We don’t talk about my career very much.  We spend time together and laugh a lot.

Would you leave everything for love (Lo Dejaria Todo)? (Fans Daniela Nelson, Jime)

I wouldn’t leave my career for love…  But the love of my life would understand that...

If you were not the world's coolest choreographer, what would you be? (Fans Ariel Enrique Malaspina (Rosana), Cinthia Cialona, Alma Ileana Villa Arredondo and Maria Tejeda)

Aww that was sweet… I would be a journalist for sure.  I would love to be on television delivering the news.  I would sign off saying the same thing I say to Chayanne before he goes on stage ….”Don’t forget to Dazzle”

The Chay Guy Experience

If asked, I am sure each and every single one of us would be able to explain our discovery of Chayanne.  That very instant in which sparks flew off our ears (and for some of us our eyes, and by some I mean ALL) and we began our musical love story.  A love that has taken us to record stores… to save every penny we could so we could purchase that brand new LP, cassette, or CD we would play over and over again… A love that may have at some point in your life fail to acknowledge limits, such as when you found yourself on a 5 hr trip by airplane for the simple pleasure of seeing your star perform right before your eyes (Ahem!).  Whatever it may be, it is our experience.  It is what will always remain with us.  For Nancy, her Chayanne experience has been more than rewarding.  It helped make her boss.  It has made her shine very brightly in our eyes.

How did you start working for Chayanne?   Do tell!  (Fans Alma Ileana Villa Arredondo and Angelica Lacarra, Kelly Setzer and Maria Tejeda)

I started working with Chayanne right before “Dance With Me” Came out.   He was a hard worker and Shy. That ‘s why I call him Chay Guy.  It’s what I’ve been calling him for years.  Unless we are in a professional meeting with others… If that’s the case I call him Chayanne.  Or if I really want my way and need him to listen hard… I call Ch Ch Ch Chaaaay Guuuy.

What was your first meeting with Chayanne like?  First impression? Can you tell us a fun antidote from one of his tours? How involved is Chayanne with the creative process? Can you tell us about your inspirations for some of Chayanne's biggest numbers such Caprichosa (and its evolution), Tu Boca, Torero?  (Fans Shirly Dana, Alma Ileana Villa Arredondo, Ana Karina, Eva Tomajda, Raquel Gavilan, Rosa Rodriguez Flores, Eloisa Miranda Perez, Cintia Di Lione and Cinthia Cialona, Maria Angeles, Little Soul, Andrea Gonzales)

My First meeting with him was nice. I didn’t really speak to him very much.  I was quiet and just did my job.  It wasn’t until our first night of the tour when the other girl I was dancing with sprained her ankle and couldn’t do the first show… Yikes!  That was stressful. I told him not to worry I would change my spacing and staging and make it work.  I think he gained respect for me then. Chayanne and I become one person when it’s time to create his show.  We spend hours and days creating concepts and ideas. The hardest thing is to choreograph to the same song many times.  I have no idea how many times I’ve choreographed to Salome.  That’s why the concepts were very important for NO HAY IMPOSIBLES.  This year was the first year Chayanne let me work with a stylist and really have a huge part in wardrobe.  Salome doesn’t look good in the studio; it was built for the stage and the costumes add the power. 

Wow ok... The concept of Caprichosa:  This year is my relationship with Chayanne.  Ha!  Sometimes we love each other and sometimes we want to strangle one another... In a healthy way.  But, when you spend so much time working together it’s hard to always agree and we both like being right... Or maybe I should say I enjoy having it my way... 

Torero I choreographed in a hotel.  It was a last minute video shoot.  I don’t think I slept a whole lot then.  Tu Boca is my favorite song on the album.  It’s a cool Chay groove.  I love the feminine side to it.  I call the section when Chayanne is sitting down and has the ladies around him the "Pimp Daddy" section.  It’s funny to hear Chayanne say "Ok let’s take it from the pimp daddy section".  I love to teach him phrases from American rap songs.  He makes me laugh so hard.  "Drop it like it’s hot" was a fun one.  I got him a t shirt that says that on it years ago.

How is it to teach Chayanne his choreography? Is he a quick learner? How does he react when he is gets tired or frustrated? How do you react when he gets tiring and frustrating? How have you accomplished tearing away his shyness so that he can perform with such sensuality on stage?  (Mariana Cotroneo, Angelica Lacarra, Jacqueline Constante Alama, Kristýna Cechová, and Maria Angeles)

It depends on the routine but he works so hard no matter what. When he’s frustrated or tired he tries to sit down. I try and hide the chairs now and then.  The funniest was when I was teaching him Besos en la Boca, it was one of the last tunes he had to learn, he was working with me all day and the band at night.  It was a hard schedule. I showed him the movement and he stared at me and said "No Nancy, I’m not going to do that".  I have to have tons of energy and dance all over place and when he sees how much fun I’m having he always laughs smiles and then says "Ok, teach me".

What is the best part about working with Chayanne? (Fan Caro Chay)

He’s fun... and he reminds me of how much I love what I do.

Have you ever had a fight with the yummy Chayanne? (Fan Silvana Lopez Gale)

Yes..

Who choreographed Mira Ven Ven? Based on that choreography, do you think

Chayanne would disappoint his lover? (Fan Anonymous)

Travis Payne did a big part of it. Chayanne and I did the rest.  Mira Ven Ven and Salome were the first pieces of Choreography I got to do.  I don’t think Chayanne would disappoint his lover.  I believe when two people have chemistry MAGIC will always happen.

What is the most difficult and emotional moment that you have lived through your times with Chayanne? (Fan Eloisa Miranda Perez) 

Well, I was engaged to be married and realized I loved this person but I wasn’t ready to settle down.  I wanted to travel, see the world and continue to pursue a career... I was sad and confused and Chayanne helped me through the decision.

What Chayanne´s song do you prefer? (Fan Eva Tomajda)  

My favorite song from Chayanne is Lo Dejaria Todo and up tempo is Boom Boom.

Which one was, the more difficult choreography for Chayanne? (Fan Karina Runza)

Ha ha ha Lola was the most difficult for Chayanne to learn.  It’s very isolated and a little tricky but practice makes perfect.  He did want me to change it to make it easier and I pretended not to receive the text.  I won’t show him this question…  ja ja ja  I get away with murder sometimes.

You that know Chayanne so well, do you honestly believe that he truly knows everything he provokes within us? (Fan Cintia Di Lione)

He has an idea only when he hears the crowd react... He really is humble and will ask why the crowd was going crazy when he was just moving his hips... I usually tell him that his fans really like the pockets on the back side.

Have you ever considered having one of Chayanne's fans participate in one of his videos or on the stage with him? (Fans Sandra Perez Ayala and Karina Runa)

I have never thought about it but I think it’s a fun idea, thank you.

The hot/ sensual choreography we see on the shows are mostly Chayanne's ideas or yours?  What are the limits?  (Fan Little Soul)

I’m laughing out loud at this one… They are mostly my ideas and Chayanne always laughs and blushes when I explain what I want certain choreography to look like.  I like it sensual with a touch of class, just enough for the audience to scream.  It really depends on the song.  But, don’t get me wrong, he’s always happy when I add those elements…

Of all the questions the girls have sent you, do you think Chayanne would look at any and ask you to please not answer any question in particular? (If he does, please don't mind him and reply anyway)  (Fan Little Soul)

He has seen some of the questions and I will send this to him when I’m done.. Chayanne and I have known each other for about 14 yrs now.  We grew up together.  Although I tell him all the time I’m still the mature one)   He would trust me to answer any question.  He would never tell me not to do something.

Chayanne says that he will be dancing for as long as he can, even with a cane if he has to, where do you see yourself 20 years from now? (Fan Maria Tejeda)

I see myself teaching Chayanne how to dance with a cane... Maybe it will be a red cane... Or a candy cane...  I also see myself teaching someone everything I know about show business and how to teach an artist.

For Chayanne Nothing Is Impossible

As I listened to this interview, I couldn't help thinking to myself, how very special a person has to be for them to have achieved more success during their career, that shows no signs of slowing down mind you, than so many other artists will experience in their lifetimes and still remain so humble. I think that's one of the many qualities that Chayanne posesses that draw people to him like a magnet.

As Chayanne continues on with his killer "No Hay Imposibles" tour, which is fast approaching it's one year mark, Chayanne give an telephone interview promoting his tour that is making it's way to Ecuador.

As for Chayanne giving voice to the Disney character "Flynn Rider", in Tangled.....nothing short of magic, pure magic, something that I'm sure Mr. Disney would be proud of.

If your thinking about going to see Chayanne again, don't think about it too long. Buy your tickets, pack your bags and make your way......or you just might miss your chance....that is.......until the next tour!

Nothing is Impossible for Chayanne

For his singing strength, his deployment and energy on stage and his choreographed dances, the Puerto Rican singer Chayanne has been given the nicknames of Cyclone, Man Show and The Amazing One.  He is aware of these nicknames and laughs with a bit of shyness as he remembers the words of affection that fans yell at his shows.

"Amazing? Nooooo," he says in a phone interview with a Miami newspaper (USA), town where he has been established since 1986. "I think I'm simple and it's normal for me to enjoy being on stage.  They tell me that I am a different person when I’m on stage because normally I am very calm and relaxed.  If I go to a party you'll see me sitting and watching, because I have big eyes to see, "he says and laughs again.

Chayanne was very chatty, and ready to openly talk about his role of being a father and husband. He says that he is very happy with the idea of going to Ecuador with new presentations. These are part of a tour that began in Los Angeles in March 2010 and aims to conclude in June this year in Mexico.

On his journey he claims that that nothing is impossible, referring to the record production that was released in 2010 and promoted. "There are no impossibles. One fights for the things he/she wants. It’s a positive expression because we have to keep fighting. I do not think that life is rosy, but everyone seeks happiness. These are the many moments of joy that make your life positive. "

The Puerto Rican who notes that nothing is impossible sings about love, couples, and parties.  He confesses of being in a constant search for joy and traditions and to live fully.  He gives himself fully in his shows and is very grateful for the affection he receives from the people.

"I'm grateful for what life has given me. Not that I'm laughing 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, but I try to find those moments which I hold on to in order to stay positive and when something unexpected comes up I learn from it and continue on my way.”  For the No Hay Imposibles tour Chayanne began preparing since November 2009.  He first called the musicians and dancers who would accompany him on the tour, which happen to come from different countries, and then picked dates for the rehearsals and started to structure the show.  

"The show changes from one tour to the next. His staging, choreography, costumes, lighting, technology, sound (which depending on where he goes can be more rock, pop or island, in Ecuador it will be romantic pop).  When 2, 3, 4 and 5 years pass you can implement what you’ve learned along the way. It's complex, beautiful and fun, but also has its stress. "Despite everything that is involved with the production, Chayanne expresses to enjoy the presentations and at the end of the cycle will resume the work that has been unseen. The work that takes place behind the scenes which starts by contacting the producers to record a new album.

And he also has, and thanks God, invitations to participate in upcoming new film productions. The most recent plot in which he gave his voice (dubbing into Spanish) to Rider Flynn, co-star of the Disney animated movie. "I did it during the tour," says Chayanne without hiding his excitement. "I was very illusioned with the project.  When you go to Disney or a kid sees his film it creates a fantasy and then to be the voice of one of its cartoon characters is amazing. Chayanne's Frisky Interview on Al Rojo Vivo (Translation)

Chayanne always gives great interviews! I know this one is a few days old, but I heard that it was just toooo adorable to pass up. It's not often we get to see Chayanne as his frisky and playful best! You know...Tengo un cariño personal en mi corazón por un hombre que le gusta el chocolate negro ... que tiene que el chocolate oscuro derecho ... es muy intenso ..... hay que amor! LOL

Ok Chayanne, people are asking how hot is the concert that you will be giving us this weekend, especially since its Valentine’s Day.

Chayanne:  It’s going to be on fire!

So, what can the fans and the ladies expect?

Chayanne:  It’s going to be on fire because I always perform with my heart in my hand, especially in my country that the people here know me since the very beginning,  all that’s happened so far, it’s almost like I am thanking them for always being there.  The songs from the new album, No Hay Imposibles, and I named it that because we have to fight in life, and get up every time we fall.  The songs that the fans have placed in the top spots, like “Dejaria Todo” ( I would leave everything), they identify with them and some might say that they remember exactly where they were when they heard the song, Tiempo De Vals (Time for Waltz) they might have danced it on their sweet sixteen.  And I am going to be with my heart in my hand and very happy to be in my country.

We have to fight for love right?

Chayanne:  Yes, we have to fight for love and you have to nurture your relationship so it could blossom.  Because for example in my profession, just because one of your albums is a hit doesn’t mean that the next one will be too.  You have to see it like it was your first time and you have to dedicate yourself, and always work hard.

So can the ladies expect sensual movements by Chayanne?

Chayanne:  There is going to be a little bit of everything, it’s going to be very nice and the show will have a lot of energy.  Being from here, I have added more things to my show.  I want to do a tribute to the music of my country; I have more musicians, more dancers, more scenery, and more lights, more everything. 

So we should expect something different and will you be closer to your fans?

Chayanne:  Of course I will be closer to my fans, and not only that, this is the first time that I am going to perform in the Jose Miguel Agrelot venue, the other places I’ve performed have been great but this one is going to be special.   I just hope that the public has fun, that they sing and dance, and that they get each other up from the chairs.  I want them to do what they feel.

Since we warned you before the interview, we are going to ask you some hot and steamy questions, inspired in the theme of Valentine’s Day.

Chayanne:  Oh oh, so this is just the beginning (laughs)

Does Chayanne sleep with clothes on or like Adam?

Chayanne:  I have always supported Adam, before the apple that is (laughs)

What is Chayanne’s favorite time to make love?

Chayanne:  There is no schedule; you do it when you feel it, when the sentiment is there, without conditions.

What inspires you to be romantic?

Chayanne:  I get inspired by what I have in front of me (laughs), inspired by life, by beautiful things, by tranquility, by love, by spontaneity.  That’s what inspires me; I have to be relaxed, without conditions. 

Your fans would like to know if you are going to do another sexy layout like the one you did for Playgirl years back.

Chayanne:  (Laughing and pointing his finger at the interviewer) No, that time I did it more for publicity, because that magazine was going to be featured in Japan and pretty much all over the world.  It was more for the (pauses and says) see how I get (laughs).  I was wearing a bathing suit, they asked me to pose nude but I am very shy. 

No one has forgotten that yellow swimsuit!

Chayanne:  (laughing) No one has forgotten it, you are killing me, and did you see it?

I have to be honest and tell you that I did see it, that one and the one with the pillow and the one of you on the beach too.

Chayanne:  We did the pictures, and they came out good.  They were taken in the beautiful island of Jamaica.  But I don’t think I could ever pose nude, I don’t think so.

Everyone says that the older you get, the better you look.

Chayanne:  Well thank you, of course with clothes on.

Well, maybe if you take new pictures we can then be the judges of that.

Chayanne:  So you will judge huh (laughs)

Ok, here is the last of the steamy questions, please take the question out of this beautiful arrangement made just for you.

Chayanne:  So pretty, perfect for Valentine’s Day, and remember one of the reasons we are doing the concerts now is to celebrate Valentine’s Day.  Ok, it says, do you consider yourself, wait to I read it?

Yes, of course

Chayanne:  (reading the question) Do you consider yourself a hot, steamy lover in your private life?

And Chayanne responds…

Chayanne: (Picking up petals from the vase and throwing them up in the air) I respond like this (laughs) Let me pick them up, one by one (laughs). 

Do you enjoy passion and seduction?

Chayanne:  Yes I like it, I can’t deny it.  And I think that when you are comfortable and you feel love it’s when you enjoy it the most!  Therefore…turn off the cameras (laughs)

Ok, let’s change the subject, you’ve been traveling the world since you are ten years old, is there anything from your childhood that you never got to do, that you know want to do with your own children?

Chayanne:  I have lived my life intensively.  I have taken advantage of the time I’ve lived both in my personal as in my professional life, so I think I have given them all I could in the time that I spend with them,  in certain places, and we have lived very beautiful moments.  Life goes on and I will continue to feed my relationship because family is the most beautiful thing in the world.  And of course I am very proud of my children as they are very noble and I am very happy with the beautiful gifts that life has given me. 

Do you think of having any more children?

Chayanne:  We have beautiful things prepared for the show (Chayanne laughs and jokes as he started talking about something else and didn’t answer the question).  No, the idea is never discarded, but we don’t have any plans to have more children.

So your last concert is on Sunday, February 13^th and Valentine’s Day is the following day on the 14^th.  Is Chayanne prepared and will he have any energy left?

Chayanne:  I always have energy when it comes to that (laughs) I am referring to the concerts.  No, there is always energy and a lot of love.  I am a traditional kind of guy, and some traditions I celebrate more than others, for example the Christmas tradition I live intensely, and of course Valentine’s day too, I love to eat with my family, it’s another opportunity to be with the ones you loved, but Valentine’s day is every day.  But we always try to be together, eat together, call our loved ones, and remember all the good times, because we are always looking for moments full of happiness every chance we get.  We are going to be together and we are going to have a great time.  You know the flowers, eating together, the chocolates.

Do you like chocolate?

Chayanne:  I love chocolate!  I give chocolate and if they don’t eat it, then I will.

Do you like milk or dark chocolate?

Chayanne:  Dark, intense, that it tastes truly like chocolate.

Finally, can you send a message to your fans that are watching?

Chayanne:  To all the people that are watching, thank you for your love, I am very happy to be here in Puerto Rico.  I always have my heart on my hand, whether it’s on the month of love and friendship, in a concert, or if we ever run into each other somewhere.  I am always thankful for the smiles I receive.

I forgot to ask you something, while you travel the world, how do you feel when you come across child abuse or abuse to women?

Chayanne:  That makes me very sad and I feel as if there is nothing I can do because I am merely a little grain of sand.  But I always say that there should be peace, tranquility, harmony, dialogue that by talking a solution can always be reached.  There are no impossibles and we have to be tolerant and we have to talk.  Conversation is the best weapon that can have.

The 42 year old, born under the sign of Cancer, is married to Marilisa Marronesse for about 15 years and are parents to Lorenzo, 13, and Isadora 10.  He rules out the idea of having more children, “I will remain with just two children”.  But he will keep working and feeding his relationship with his wife, even though astrologers foretell and predict a stormy year in his marriage.   

"One must keep watering and feeding the garden so that the flowers don’t wilt.  People will always have something to say, but you have to fight so things can go right”, replied Chayanne as he also mentioned that he always reads his horoscope, but at the same time “I take everything very positive and try to do things correctly so that all turns out well”.

Conscious to his infallible smile, Chayanne sings without personal or professional remorse and is partisan to change.    

"I am not reluctant to change.  Inside my music genre, which is pop, I have the opportunity to do fusions with other rhythms and on stage I achieve my risqué style with great physical effort”, said Chayanne who also mentioned that his new album will be “different” but with the same essence.

"Each time that you make a decision there is a risk involved.  The risk comes when you accept and say I am going in that direction, because there is no going back", commented. 

If it could travel back in the time, I would revisit my childhood.  "Those outings to the nearby dam, to Yunque with my parents and now I do the same thing with my kids in the caves of Camuy.  I yearn for my grandparents, for both of them, on both my mom’s and dad’s side.  I lived so many beautiful moments….those times that I played dominoes in which my dad and grandfather taught me how to play the game.   

  

Being family oriented is an intrinsic element in the call of the "Boricua bullfighter".  Feeling weakness from his brothers, Elliot and Emanoel, who is running for mayor of San Lorenzo as part of the New Progressive Party, the artist does extensify this fraternity to his followers.

In terms of content, there will be "a tribute to the music of Puerto Rico”, without leaving behind the songs from his most recent album and his symbolic successes as "Completamente Enamorados, ‘Dejaria Todo”, ‘Tu Pirata Soy Yo”, and “Provocame”, among others.   

Focusing on his proposal he states exactly what he considers his greater contribution to pop music.  "Not that other artists haven’t done it or will stop doing it, but when you sing about love and about being positive, there are no impossibles”.

In the framework of the message that he gave the governor, Luis Fortuño yesterday, the singer expressed one of his biggest worries.  "Education is the future of Puerto Rico and I am always going to incline towards the children".
