Fancy Meeting You Here, A Year In Chayanne 2011

Happy New Years and Feliz Ano Nuevo from the ladies of Pandora's Caja!
Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow ~ Einstein

It really does seem like just yesterday, that I was writing Pandora's Caja New Year's post for 2010, preparing to herald in 2011. Now here we stand and waving goodbye to 2011 and looking forward into the unknown of 2012. This pas year gave us many things, some great and some.......but that's the nature and the way of things.

2011 was a year of incredible growth for Pandora's Caja, we have gained a new comadre in the cause, love you La Guerita Caprichosa, and my other sisters and myself had the privilege of bringing you another year of Chayanne. We do what we do out of friendship, love, and passion for Chayanne and all of his innumerable fans around the globe.

Bariloche, Fantasia, Candela, Glamour Girl, and La Guerita Caprichosa......My sisters in the cause and my friends. I could never have asked for a better group of people to work with. Finding one person that will be willing to show the amount of dedication and love to a dream, a vision, that did not begin as their own is a one in a million chance. But to find five.....I have been blessed beyond my most cherished imaginings. As writers I hope that the knew year brings us continued fulfillment bringing all that's current and good to our readers. As my sisters in the journey of life I have no doubt that the New Year will see us further into our respective journeys of self-discovery.

To my amigochas, my sisters of the heart (You know who you are) Thank you for all of your support on the most incredibly frightening, wonderful journey that is partially behind me, but continuously unfolding before me. It can get lonely out there. "To be capable of steady friendship or lasting love, are the two greatest proofs, not only of goodness of heart, but of strength of mind." ~ William Hazlitt

To all of our readers and friends.....the warmest place in all of our hearts. We would not be able to do what we do without your continued love and support. We send you New Years wishes for happiness, health and love.

Finally, Chayanne....what can I say as a fan you never cease to amaze me. 2011 was as extraordinary as 2010 as was 2009 and ad infinitum. As a person.......the me.....the real.....your music has provided me with laughter, pensivity, and  most of all comfort. “Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything.” ~ Plato

Just A Spoon Full Of Sugar, Promo Clip of Chayanne's Interview With Onda (English Translation)

In my opinion there are only three things better than listening to Chayanne giving an interview, meeting him in person, seeing him perform live.....and a REALLY great piece of chocolate (I happen to think Chayanne is a REALLY great piece of chocolate, but I digress)

Chayanne has so much personality! You don't have to understand a word to know that he's the most adorable man on the planet.(I promise I'm working on learning Spanish!)  Early this morning Onda aired a prerecorded interview with Chayanne (Hopefully we will be able to bring you the full translation as well). In the mean time here is a translation of the promo-clip.

I'm hoping that Onda will post a link to the interview broadcast from this morning for those of you who weren't able to listen in. Here is the link to Onda La Superstacion.

So while Chayanne's NHI tour is winding down to a close, this sweet treat of an interview will be a great way to help get passed "The Tour Is Almost Over, What Am I Going To Do Now" blues *wink*. Much Love
~Peace

Media Research: Fantasia Chayan
Translation: La Guerita Caprichosa

“He belongs to the classic stock of romantics.”

Leonardo (Narrator): Your specialty is to fill venues and whisper sleepless melodies to a faithful and growing auditorium.

Chayanne: (laughs) Before saying anything, I have to laugh and thank you for your words, because they are very nice, Leonardo, thank you… Thank you, because I also see my self described a little, well, completely, in what you are saying, but I don’t know how to say it so elegantly. (laughs)

“A disarming smile”

Leonardo: Perhaps the most lethal smile of the Latin American ballad.

Chayanne: My mom called me Chayanne, well, “Chancito” (chuckles) “Chancito, papito, come here, don’t do that.” (laughs)

Leonardo: He is heard in Buenos Aires, Medellin, and Caracas, but also in Rome, Istanbul and Paris.

Chayanne: My positivism leads me to feel that No Hay Imposibles (Nothing is impossible). Umm… I have lived through a lot of situations in my life, I’ve had luck, I’ve worked a LOT, but I’ve also had luck. I’ve had people around me that have helped me in my career, and so I have met a lot of goals, my goals.

“Love as a banner”

Leonardo: He is a genuine icon of Latin American romantic pop.

Chayanne: Well, I sing about love because I believe in love. It is my banner. I believe it, I believe in love and I believe in couples.

“30 years in his career”

Leonardo: A man who has made a custom of being on the list of radio hits and in the guidebook of feverish love.

“20+ albums”

Chayanne: I don’t feel like I’m boring, but I have said many times that people must think that one is boring, and that one does not live, and I live a lot! I live fully, and I enjoy life, perhaps in a manner that for many people is boring… (laughs)

“Elmer Figueroa Arce”
“Chayanne”
“The Impossible”

Leonardo: It is impossible to not celebrate his journey and the decibels of his voice.
(handing him a wrapped present) It’s not an apple… open it…

Chayanne: (holds it up to his ear) Does it go Tick, tick, tick? (laughs) What is it? Ahhh!

Leonardo: We heard you played ball…

Chayanne: Yes, 2nd base regular (laughs) 2nd base regular, and 5th to bat… they didn’t want to put me up to bat second. (laughs)

Premios Juventud Awards 2011, Chayanne Fans In The Waiting

This time last year fans around the world were watching with sheer joy as Chayanne took home three Premios Juventud awards, "Best Moves", "My Favorite Pop Star", and "My Idol Is".

This year was slightly different. The fans were there in full force to show their support. This year Chayanne was nominated for "Best Moves", "The Super Tour", "Best Theme Novella".......what was different? He didn't win any of his categories. But I know that it wasn't due to a lack of Chayanne fan support. It's a well known fact that Chayanne has some of the most amazing fans that any artist would want to have, and that anyone who is knew to Chayanne would want to meet and be a part of.

Even though we were didn't get to see Chayanne win an award,  we still had a great time watching the PJ Awards. What made it so  much fun? The fans of course! Twitter was ablaze with activity. If your tweeting fingers were out of shape, then you probably couldn't keep up. Fans were tweeting from vacations, family gatherings, you name it. Even if some of Chayanne's fans couldn't watch the PJ Awards, they were on Twitter sending Chayanne much love. The next day bright and early Chayanne gave love back to his fans in spades! No only did Chayanne send the sweetest twitter messages to his fans. He told fans that before he had to get off twitter he would answer three fan questions! These are his Tweets:

Thank you Chayanne for taking the time on your well deserved vacation to not only send us tweets, but to answer questions as well. So for this year the Premios Juventud's are at an end.....BUT......the Latin Grammy's still await ;)
