A Solas Con Chayanne - The Interview (Translated)

As the days grew closer and closer to the release of A Solas Con Chayanne, so did the anticipation and excitement that comes with enjoying one of his shows live.  And my friends, A Solas Con Chayanne does not disappoint.

You all know I devote a lot of time, love and care to see Chayanne at least once or twice while he is on tour (or 6... AHEM! But who is counting..?!).  And I do it because there is no greater feeling than that emotion you get right before the show starts.  When you are sitting in the first rows and you are frantically re-touching your makeup and making sure your hair is perfect... just in case he happens to look at you... And then there's that moment you forget your composure and start screaming like a crazy person (not caring what you may look like as you do so) simply because he is just there:  In front of you... looking at you with those heavenly eyes... singing to you... dancing with you.  [[Sighh!]] Oh what a feeling it is!  A Solas Con Chayanne gave us exactly what it promised; alone time with our idol and more!.

Watching the DVD however, I do have one regret:  Not flying down to Mexico to catch this show.  Did he really sing Completamente Enamorados?  Yes, yes he did and I almost fainted.  Completamente Enamorados was the first song I ever heard of Chayanne when I was 9 years old.  It holds a special place in my heart.

Be warned:  Watching A Solas Con Chayanne causes a sudden surge of ChayFever... Have your Chay-ibuprophen (or husband) handy!  LOL.

Without further ado, here is the translation to the 20 minute interview shown at the end of the show.  It breathes the pure essence that makes us love Chayanne more and more each day.  Enjoy!

Chayanne In Flashback! Circa 1998: Guajira

I'm sitting here thinking over the last year and a half, and one of my favorite memories comes to my mind. Go back with me if you will prior to the start of Chayanne's 2010-2011 NHI Tour. In preparation for the tour, Chayanne send out a tweet telling fans that he's listening to songs that he might use on the tour and asks what songs fans would like to hear on the tour.

Well....I did exactly what any Chayanne fan would do.......I got on Twitter and let my fingers tweet as fast as they could and submitted my choice, "Guajira" of course! (Now let me clarify, my all time favorite song is "Te Echo de Menos", but he did that song in his last concert as part of a medley. But "Guajira" hasn't been heard performed live in ages.) I was Über excited to cast my vote, but I really didn't think it would amount to much after I saw that about a gazillion (is that a word) fans were tweeting the same time as I was. I perused the list of responses and I didn't see where anyone else had mention "Guajira". After that I kind of dismissed it and thought to myself that Chayanne would never use that song for this tour.

Yes this is my favorite still from the video...I dream that it's me *wink*

Long story short....Chayanne did use "Guajira", and I got to hear it live for the first time over the phone as my amigocha Rosalita (Guajira Chicas To The Bone!) called me from the concert to let me hear it. It was all I could do to keep from screaming and waking up my entire house hold.

(This is the concert that Rosa let me listen in on!) Laura, how did you keep your hands so steady! Besitos!

So with that said, I thought you would enjoy this behind the scenes look at the making of "Guajira". Please enjoy this translation by my sister La Guerita Caprichosa (who as of very early this morning is a new mommy! Love you Sister Girl!)

NOTE: The background music is a bit loud so you may need to turn up your volume to hear the interview clearly

Chayanne - Entrevista en HTV – 1998

"I had never worked in Black and White before, and that is something different that seemed very nice on the part of  [my apologies to the person he names, but I can't make it out... perhaps the director of the video shoot? Can anyone help fill this in?] It was good that it was something new that I was doing.

There is no choreography of any type, which usually I put in some type of choreography. There are absolutely no dancers.  What is used is more of the photography model.  It is very fresh, not so stylized... the video is somewhat relaxed.

The straw hat gives you more freedom, it makes you more casual. There are a lot of details that I had not used in previous videos.  The model is the same... the singer is the same, which is me (laughs), but obviously with the years of experience you deposit that in the newer projects.

There was an amusing experience in making the video. One of the (male) models had to pour coconut water onto one of the (female) models, and we had to repeat that several times... it was amusing.

Well, the hardest part I can tell you was the scorching sun that was out that day. It was brutal. One of those that you feel like your skull is going to crack open and you have to close it back up. (laughs) But the other thing was the trip to get there we had to pass through the Everglades and there were a whole lot of alligators, no, but no, that depends also on how you take things. You know that you have a job to do, you have to work and there are sacrifices that go with that, it is normal. I am very playful because I have a lot of fun in my career."

Cordoba & Junin Rocked!!! -- NHI Tour Update

Chayanne is back with his NHI 2011 Tour and he does not disappoint this time around either.  The chosen stage for his comeback is Argentina.  On the 14th, 10,000 Argentineans came together at the Orfeo Theater in Cordoba to be delighted by Chayanne’s infectious rhythm.  As in all his concerts he sang many of his classics, Provocame, Salome, Caprichosa, and Atado a tu Amor, paired together with songs from his latest album No Hay Imposibles.

Following his success in Cordoba, Chayanne moved on to the Estadio del Club Atletico Sarmiento de Junin, where again, approximately 10,000 people gathered just for him.

But, a video speaks a lot more than anything I can tell you so here you go:

Triple Threat Comes To Chayanne's NHI Tour, Welcome Tyrell "Trellz" Washington

Thanks to Bariloche's amazing post yesterday, we know that Chayanne is taking his "killer tour" "No Hay Imposibles" back out on the road to shake things up in Mexico and Argentina.....but Chayanne along with long-time friend and choreographer Nancy O'Meara are also shaking things up with the dancers yet again!

We knew through the smoke signals on Twitter that Nancy O'Meara was auditioning dancers for Chayanne (That's how we first got wind that there was going to be more Papi Chulo goodness going around!)

Today Chayanne tweeted to Nancy about the dancers!

So if you don't know  Tyrell "Trellz" Johnson, amazing member of the "L.A.B." along with the famous Brandon "BLove" Barton, let Pandora's Caja have the pleasure of introducing you. Why is he a triple threat? I knew he could sing, I even knew he could rap....but the dancing...WHO KNEW!

Trellz.......I hope you know what you're in for.....once you're part of the Chayanne fan family....you're family for life!

So dear friends, we shall see who else will be Dancing with Chayanne in September and October!

~Peace

Maybe It Wasn't De Piel a Piel...But Chayanne's Music Is Definitely De Alma a Alma

A few years ago there was a rumor that Chayanne was making an album that was supposed to be called "De Piel a Piel", in English, "Skin to Skin". That particular album never did surface, but a few months later, what did surface was Chayanne's best album to date, "No Hay Imposibles".  But the the phrase, "De Piel a Piel, never quite left me.

I knew the word "piel" as language challenged as I am, it's a word that Chayanne uses in one of my favorite songs "Volver a Nacer" "Va creciendo el amor y en la ilusión. Se nos queda la piel amándonos. Es volver a nacer cuando tú y yo. Estamos juntos. (Love grows. And in the illusion, we shed our skin while making love. It's like being born again when you and I are together")
How beautiful are those words.....exquisite.

So of course I had to go to the source...Bariloche! This is the definition that she gave me, "De Piel a Piel, sensual...the ultimate intimacy. Two hearts synchronized into one heart beat...embraced, together....skin to skin." How the heck sexy is THAT.....but I think there's something even greater...."De Alma a Alma", soul to soul. That's what Chayanne gives us through his music, he gives each and every one of us the chance to experience him soul to soul.

With the NHI tour firmly tucked away, Chayanne fans all over the world have turned their thoughts and conversations to the "What's going to come next." There are so many music artists out there cranking out albums one after the other, but there are very few artists that give it to their fans so good that they leave them hanging on wanting more.

Each album that Chayanne creates, it's as if he exposes a bit more of his inner-being, as he weaves himself with his voice through the words and melodies of his songs. This is what we feel when we're listening to his music, and the feeling s that he enables us to experience are never the same, always deeper, more intense. The great part about it is that no matter what you are experiencing at any given moment in time, you can find a song of Chayanne's that will give you what you need in that moment.....I should know.

It's easy to find music to dance to, now mind you, Chayanne, who is the embodiment of "Baila Swagger" can put down some of the best dance tracks that you'll ever hear, but it's in the ballads that you find his true depth.

When you're at your worst moment, you can put on your favorite ballad, and suddenly your inner most being, is transported. Some may call it their "Happy Place" *wink*......I call it the hinterland of my soul....the outer most regions of my being......and if you look very closely into the eyes of a Chayanne fan at one of his concerts, THAT is what you will see in their eyes. The reflection of one soul touched by another in a way that will stay with them forever.

So yes, I'm like every other Chayanne fan eagerly waiting to see what will be next, to see what else lies beneath. I still think that "De Piel a Piel" would be a great name for an album. But If I can't get Chayanne de piel a piel.....I'll gladly take him "de alma a alma".

You Are Hereby Cordially Invited To The Hottest Birthday Bash Ever!

Please join us in celebrating Chayanne's birthday!
Hosted by his loving fans from around the world
On June 28, 2011
On Twitter, Facebook, My Space and any place that fans choose to gather!

You may be wondering what Chayanne fans have been up to since the last concert...well, I'll tell you...getting ready! Getting ready for what? For Chayanne's birthday of course!

In the world of Chayanne fandom Chayanne's birthday is one of the biggest days of the year. It's been the buzz on Twitter, Facebook and MySpace for days now....plotting and planning how they will surprise Chayanne for his birthday. Fans are even making videos!

This is a video made by fan Laura Gilbert (It's the most adorable thing)

What is also cool is that as a symbol of solidarity fans on Twitter, FB, and MS are using this avatar, which was created in honor of Chayanne's birthday by our very on Candela. The idea that Chayanne fans the world over could use the same avatar in homage to Chayanne's birthday was the brainchild of @88ivories on Twitter.

If you don't want to use this particular avatar get creative and make a Chayanne Birthday avatar of your own. We would love to see what you come up with! You can even post your avatars on the Pandora's Caja page on FB.

If any Chayanne fans get together to celebrate, we would love for you to post pictures of your party on our page as well. You can also send them via email to pandorascaja@yahoo.com. If you do post or email pictures of your Chayanne Birthday Parties please make sure that you tell us where you hosted your party and who is in the picture.

But Chayanne may just have a little something for us as well....call it a little "party favor". In an interview with Televisa Espectaculous, Chayanne states that he's considering making a DVD of his just finished "No Hay Imposibles" tour! I know right! It's his birthday and he's giving out the gifts. Of course Pandora's Caja will do it's best to keep you updated.

So until the party......

The End Of One, Is The Beginning Of Another

Tonight is the final show of Chayanne's "No Hay Imposibles" tour....so for me it's only fitting that I write a blog that marks the end of the tour, in the same manner that I wrote the blog that marked the beginning, listening to "Me Enamore de Ti".....

This has been one hell of a ride (can I say hell and still be family friendly?) From the first show, of the first leg of the U.S. tour until tonight, the last show of the second leg of the Latin countries tour, Chayanne and his entire crew have given 200% of everything they had EVERY SINGLE SHOW! There is not one single true Chayanne fan that could honestly ask for more.

To the dancers, we have watched the dancers change over the course of the tour, but each and every one of you that we had the privilege of getting to know we have fallen in love with. We've had a blast getting to know you, and we appreciate you sharing yourselves with us. You have shared your "personal selves" not only your "professional selves" and for that we are eternally grateful. (We hope that we see all of you on the next tour!)  You're firmly in the Chayanne fan family...so you know what this means right? It means that we're going to support you in all that you do. *HUGS*

Nancy, what can I say! We had a blast with you this tour! You have been there with Chayanne for over ten years kicking out incredible choreography for tour after tour, after tour, and this one was no exception.  Many thanks for opening yourself up to Pandora's Caja and all of Chayanne fans by sharing yourself with us via two amazing first of their kind interviews. (I hear Chayanne's already twirling around ideas for his next album...does that mean you're twirling around ideas for hot choreography to go with that hot music? Yeah Baby! *wink*)

Nancy O'Meara...hey Anniee how did you sneak in here! *wink*

As Anniee would say, "You're one BARH!" Someday I hope to meet you in person! Much Love!

To you Papcito, what can I say.....you've given us so much there's almost not enough words to say other than thank you and we love you. You've given us so much more than music...you gave us music that soothed our hearts and whispered to our souls. You gave us your energy, passion and who could ever forget that smile of yours. This is the end of one heck of a year.....but I also know that there is something even greater waiting just around the bend. *HUGS*

With that said my people, I have nothing better to leave you with that the words that Carol Burnett used to sing at the end of her show....Much Love

~Peace

Carol's Theme

I'm so glad we had this time together,
Just to have a laugh, or sing a song.
Seems we just get started and before you Know it
Comes the time we have to say, "So long".

There's a time you put aside for dreamin.
And a time for things you have to do.
The time I love the best is any evening
I can spend a moment here with you.

When the time comes and I'm feelin' lonely
And I'm feelin' oh so blue.
I just sit back and think of you only
And the happiness still comes through.

That's why I'm glad we had this time together.
Cause it makes me feel like I'm along.
Seems we just get started and before you know it
Comes the time we have to say, "So Long".

Good night everybody!
