Chayanne In The DR, A Little Bit Of Amazing Is Better Than Nothing

Last night Chayanne performed in joint concert with fellow Latin Mega Entertainer, Marc Anthony, as well as the new to the music scene Amelia Vega (Miss Universe 2003).

Fans of both Chayanne and Marc Anthony had found out on Twitter that the concert was going to be telecast via live feed to the internet by Orange Music. (This is a part of Orange Dominica. Orange Dominica is a mobile network operator in the Dominican Republic which is owned by France Telecom as a part of its Orange brand.)

The Tweets from Orange Music (@OrangeRD) gave fans the time of the show and the link to the website where they would be able to tune in and watch the concert, live and on line. Well, needless to say fans of both artists around the globe wanted to tune in and watch what was with out a doubt going to be an incredible concert. It doesn't take long for information like this spreads, you know how it goes, "They tweet two people, then they tweet two people", well you get my meaning.

Initially everything with the broadcast was going as planned, but then the unexpected occurred, technical difficulties. The start of the concert broadcast was delayed. Chayanne was to go first, then Amelia, and then Marc. As fans watched the concert feed, they could also leave comments via twitter, those comments could be seen running along side the screen.

And so the concert finally begins, but the problem is it really wasn't what the fans who were tuning in were expecting. The unspoken expectation was that the entire concert was to be show on the feed. When Orange tweeted that they would only be able to show two songs of each artist for, you could feel that fans were a bit disappointed, but still excited none the less. Things did get a bit more intense the show went on when fans that were watching on line realized that they were actually not going to be showing the show from a close perspective, but more or less from the perspective of a fan attending the concert who happened to get there late and had to stand at the back of the venue.  Then it seemed as if the feed was experiencing one problem after the other. Orange was really sweet and tried to accommodate viewers by tweeting pictures and announcements from the artists. But alas, it got to the point where I do believe they had to cut the feed. But they did continue to tweet picture of the artists etc. But if you know the nature of many people you can about imagine some of the tweets that Orange started to receive.

All I can tell you people is this, Orange Music wanted nothing more than for the fans of these amazing artists who could not attend the concert, to be able to share in the experience as best they could. "The best laid plans of mice and men...", as they say. People, stuff happens! I'm just grateful that Orange Music was able to share some really amazing photos and info on our favorites as they gave killer performances.

So thank you to Orange Music, Marc, and Amelia for a great time....and Chayanne for bringing it to the people the way you always do. As far as I'm concerned, I'm just happy to have been able to experience a little bit of something that I know was amazing, than to have not experienced it at all.

So just rub some dirt on it people and enjoy these amazing photographs from the evening!

Chayanne wishes Ricky all the best and heads to the Dominican Republic!

Today is a very special day because my two favorite Boricuas, Chayanne and Ricky Martin, are both on tour and bringing us their amazing music, hot looks, but most importantly showing us their love in each and every one of their concerts. I found two great articles in PrimeraHora.com which I am sure you will enjoy! I was lucky enough to see Chayanne in concert twice last year and next month I am going to Ricky’s concert so I consider myself a very, very lucky person! Enjoy the article translation!

Primera Hora’s cameras surprised one of Puerto Rico’s most loved singers, Chayanne, as he was leaving East Restaurant at around 1pm today, where he had lunch with his brother and assistant Elliot Figueroa. The singer, who wore cargo pants and black shirt, also wore a beret of the same color, and after lunch went to the vehicle that waited in the outskirts of the establishment. The artist told Primera Hora that this afternoon he was boarding on a flight to the Dominican Republic to try and finalize details of the concert which will take place on Saturday at Estadio Quisqueya in Santo Domingo. The dancer, however, was very friendly and even took a few minutes to greet Primera Hora and also sent a greeting to his colleague Ricky Martin, whom he described as his friend. In his message to Ricky, by Primera Hora, Chayanne wished him well as he begins his concert tour “Musica +Alma + Sexo" today, at the Coliseo in Puerto Rico. He also expressed his regret for not attending the show due to his professional commitments.

According to Primera Hora, both Chayanne and Marc Anthony will arrive later today in the Dominican Republic, in their private jets, to conduct testing sessions to review the concert in which they will both be performing tomorrow at the Quisqueya Stadium in Santo Domingo. This is going to be an amazing concert and this stadium holds more than 30 thousand people.

Businessman Saymon Diaz, organizer of the event, told International News Service (INS) that "everything is set up for this great concert. Marc Anthony and Chayanne confirmed that they will, each in their private jet, arrive on Friday afternoon." Diaz said that even though they are both superstars, they don’t have a ton of demands. He further commented that Chayanne confirmed that he was coming to the Dominican Republic with his platform, equipment, and a group of professional dancers. " I can say that these great Puerto Rican singers, do not come with demands ... they come with time to rehearse and they will provide a great concert to the Dominicans, one that will go down in the history of world music”, said Diaz.

INS was informed Anthony will be accompanied by his wife, the Puerto Rican singer and actress Jennifer Lopez. It is anticipated that Chayanne and Marc will sing at least two duets, confirmed Diaz. No word on which one will open the concert, but we do know that as a counterpart to Chayanne and Marc Anthony, the former Miss Universe (2003) Amelia Vega, will be performing for the first time as a professional singer. Diaz revealed that Chayanne and Anthony will perform their greatest hits and each will be on stage for the about an hour and half. "So we are definitely going to have an amazing concert, very professional and I know people will enjoy a show that will present these two great Puerto Rican artists," stated Diaz.

He said that the stage has been ready since Thursday and fans were urged to arrive to Estadio Quisqueya early to enable them to comfortably enjoy the concert. Diaz said that "we guarantee very effective organization and the safety of the people. He said that the two Puerto Rican artists will come together for the first time to integrate Latin America's most popular artist duo for Saturday’s concert which said, "is seen as one of the most engaging and exciting concert of 2011."

A couple more pictures before I go....these were uploades by the very nice people from @OrangeRD ...they are Chayanne and Marc Anthony and his wife JLo arriving in the Dominican Republic....enjoy :-)
